Compliments Received for the Concert on 10 April 2011

QUOTE from part of an article written by our senior alumni, the HON Dr CY LEUNG, after serving as the Guest of Honour
「Oh King’s College lives forever. Nothing shall our friendship sever…. Old boys, new boys winning glory, We ourselves must write the story…..」。

Mrs. Nancy CHAN School Principal of King's College
Dear Dr. Ho, Johnny, Rocky, Ms. Fung, Lam Chit Hoi, Howard and Ricky,
With your support, the Concert is a huge success. Lots of compliments were received from education counterparts, old boys and friends of King’s College yesterday evening.
This morning, Ms. Fung and I talked about the Concert last night and we were deeply touched by the very warm responses we received from the audience. The King’s spirit has warmed and moved the hearts of ALL (whether Kingsians or not). Yes, as Trevor and Michael said, “Always a Kingsian”. We are there to tell and show our strong affection for KC.
When I met the KCOBA committee members Mr. Lam Kwok Wing, Mr. Arthur Li and Mr. Chan Chek Biu this afternoon for the KCOBAPSs Athletic Meet, we couldn’t help sharing about the sensational touching moments we shared in the Concert.
Words cannot express how much I should thank the KHQ for bringing the King’s family together at this historical moment – the school’s 85th anniversary and the Harmonica Band’s 60th Anniversary. I am happy to be a member of the King’s family and so fortunate to share with you the joy in such precious moments. A BIG THANK YOU to you all.
I will share the compliments we received in the King’s Morning tomorrow about the pride and honour you bring to KC.
Yes, we should have a celebration. As I mentioned before, I think it is a terrific idea and we should go for it.
GLORY to KC
With best wishes
Nancy

Dear Chi-Wing, dear Chit-Hoi, dear Johnny, dear Ho-Pak, + all other KC old boys and new boys, + friends, including those I don't have yet the opportunity to know one by one,
Needless to say, this is a very gratifying concert from many points of view. In comparison with the 50th anniversary concert 10 years ago, really a whole new generation of excellent harmonica players emerge exhibiting extraordinary musical personality in this extended family of KCHB, conquering the heart of everyone of us who has witnessed this musical and educational miracle last night. Not only the various combination of the bands on stage, but also the variety and balance in terms of musical sensibilities of the whole programme of performance reflect how much thoughts and pains the musical directors and the team around them have devoted themselves to the preparation of this event from A to Z. The invitation of a professional world class virtuoso--Watani--to perform his show piece is also an act which deserves much acclaim. For this shows that you are not only aiming at getting a prize at a certain competition (you have largely proved that this is never an obstacle for you), but well beyond that--you aim at harmonica music playing at its yet unexplored dimensions and possibilities. This is an infinite goal you're aiming at. To this vision of yours shown through your acts, I can only respond by saying: bravooooooooooooooo!
To everyone of you I express my profound feelings of admiration! I'm happy and proud to be associated to this big KCHB family.
3 cheers
Liu-gor
